Dessert Time | Icestone Gelato
Thursday, October 22, 2015
When someone asks me the infamous line of "Are you more of a savoury or sweet person"? I would naturally gravitate more towards savoury as I'm a sucker for a good old sandwich or a mighty slice of pizza (or the whole thing). But recently my sweet tooth has crept its way in and anything smothered in chocolate, caramel sauce or ice cream screams out heaven to me.
Now even though I'm constantly on a health kick, it only seems right to take a well earned break some days and satisfy my major sweet tooth cravings, hence the little trip me and my friend, Emma took to Icestone Gelato based in Manchester, Oxford Road.
Only opening a few weeks ago, the place is well furnished with an American diner like feel to it, velvet chairs, neon bright signs and a menu to suit anyone's needs. From sundaes to cookie dough to waffles to cakes, they offer a wide choice of desserts and drinks that I'm almost certain that everyone would find something that appeals to them.. It took us almost 10 minutes to decide so be warned!
I choose the 'Royal' waffles and Emma choose the 'Rocher Dough'. A mix of nutella, ferrero rocher pieces, chocolate ribbons, chocolate ice cream, caramel and chocolate sauce, dollop's of cream on both sides and a wafer to top it off, these waffles were so tasty and indulgent that every mouthful seemed like a blessing. At £5.79, prices are reasonable for a dessert place and in my opinion definitely worth it!
So if your looking for a great dessert place in Manchester then Ice Stone Gelato is somewhere you ought to try out as I know I sure will be.
