H&M Beauty | Nail Varnish Review

H&M, a retailer we can all rely on for supplying us with fashion forward products and affordable price tags. As a university student, anything deemed as "affordable" is a must buy and keeps my bank balance happy ..for a little while anyway.

Supplying women and men with clothing, shoes, bags, accessories, lingerie and even delivering their own line of sportswear, it should come as no surprise that the next big step was of course to re-brand their once very limited make-up section to a brand new 700 piece beauty collection.

When I first heard of the news I can honestly put my hands up and say I wasn't expecting big things and quite frankly wrote the whole thing off straight away. This was mainly because of the days when I would see the odd scabby lipstick or half broken eyeliner that I would clock just before heading to the till but never thought to chance it.

Intrigued by the hype around the collection, I decided to go into my local H&M store with the intention of just browsing however with my love of cosmetics, once again i found myself sucked into the 'low' prices and classic packaging. Although to ease my way in a little I decided to purchase only two of the nail varnishes as I'm forever trying to find colours that I actually like.

The range of colours throughout the nail varnish section was amazzzing and I found myself having to narrow down from a firm 10 colours to just 2 which let me tell you took me way longer than what it should have but hallelujah I did get there in the end! As a neutral kind of gal I decided to go with 'Kalahari' and 'Mauve It' both of which were right up my street. As far as how good they are, I would say they stand at a middle ground, yes they do apply really easily and one coat is enough however the dreaded chipping will happen around the 2nd-3rd day.

Having said that I would definitely recommend the nail varnishes to anyone who wants to try them as they are pretty much similar to ones available on the high street, at £3.99 each they comply with the lower end nail varnish prices. The colour range however is sure to draw me back in and I look forward to trying and testing more cosmetics from H&M.
